Visa® cardholders will be entertained with exclusive privileges and savings at the 2008 Vancouver International Film Festival

Filmgoers can use their Visa cards to purchase advance tickets and popular ticket packages

When the doors open to the 27th annual Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF), actors, filmmakers and producers won't be the only ones receiving red carpet treatment. Visa, a supporter of this critically acclaimed festival since 1997, is pleased to provide Visa cardholders with the opportunity to purchase advance tickets and exclusive ticket packages.

"Visa is delighted to continue its support for this important Canadian film festival while offering Visa cardholders valuable savings and privileges," said Brenda Woods, Head of Marketing, Visa Canada. "One week before they go on sale to the general public, VIFF tickets can be purchased by Visa cardholders when they use their Visa cards. This is an excellent opportunity for filmgoers to secure their seats for Vancouver's most anticipated film screenings."

In addition to advance ticket opportunities, Visa cardholders also have access to ticket packages not offered to other festival-goers. These ticket packages are designed to enhance the VIFF experience through exceptional savings and unique offers. One of these ticket packages is the Visa Screening Room Pack, which provides access to 10 films showcasing at the Visa Screening Room (located at the Empire Granville 7 Cinemas). In 2007, the Visa Screening Room previewed, among many others, the following celebrated films: Atonement, starring James McAvoy and Keira Knightley; Ang Lee's Lust, Caution; and Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud's Persepolis.

Between September 6 and 12, 2008, Visa cardholders can use their Visa cards to purchase advance tickets by calling the Visa Charge-by-Phone line at (604) 685-8297 or by visiting www.viff.org or the advance box office at the Vancouver International Film Centre, 1181 Seymour St.

The 27th Vancouver International Film Festival will run from September 25 to October 10, 2008 and Visa is the exclusive payment card of the Festival.
